RTP3000 TAS N+

RTP3200 TAS N+, the state-of-art system, SIL-3 certified for safety applications, that

Runs Faster – 7ms reaction time (screw-to-screw), based on a scan time of 1ms, including the logic solving of 30 PID loops.

Never Stops –based on the failure rates defined in IEC61508:2010, the N+ system has a MTTFS of greater than 60,000 years the RTP3200 offers an MTTF of over 50.000 years and an availability of 99.9999%, using the field proven technology of the 3000 TAS (Technologically Advanced System).

Costs Less – thanks to the unique software licensing policy of RTP. RTP NetSuite is offered as a project license with all the development and runtime licenses. The license is obtained by an one-time registration fee and includes support and free upgrades. The hardware is also offered for an attractive price and includes a 10 year warranty period.

• Offers Cyber security, certified to ISA Secure EDSA300, level II and includes AES Encryption algorithm.

The RTP3200 system uses a Distributed Architecture - an application gets separated into smaller control task applications and downloaded into its own Node configured as a single, dual redundant, triple redundant, or quad redundant processor system within a domain.  Each domain can have up to fourteen nodes, each node with up to 4 chassis which equates to up to 56 chassis per domain.

The RTP3200 offers Design Flexibility - the system allows to be configured according to the level of availability and cost required.  The system can have one, two, three, or four Node Processors residing in one chassis or separate chassis.  I/O redundancy can be accomplished on one card or across multiple cards.  The redundant I/O cards can be placed in a common chassis or across multiple chassis.

The system is designed to stay online. There is no limit to the number of times you can make changes to the application.  Logic, I/O, module pages, etc can be added or removed with no restrictions to the number of times you make changes. It includes hardware configuration changes while remaining online.  I/O channels, I/O cards, chassis, etc. can be added to or deleted from the system without taking the system offline.  Changing an I/O card can be performed in a matter of minutes and only requires a simple mouse click within the NetArrays software to disable or enable the card.

RTP3000 TAS

RTP announces the introduction of the 3000 TAS (Technologically Advanced System), TÜV approved safety system. The 3000 TAS is approved for SIL-1 to SIL-3 applications and is certified to IEC61508-2010 achieving a new level of availability and integrity. It can be used as a stand-alone safety controller, as a distributed control system for critical applications, or both functions can be combined in a 3000 TAS controller.

System architecture

Unlike other systems, the RTP3000 TAS was designed to meet the stringent requirements of IEC61508 2010 without later additions or modifications. The product requirements contained two other major items, the functionality of a DCS and the speed of a PLC. To meet the DCS requirements all Analog cards are designed with 16 ADCs and DACs. A multi CPU architecture that adds processing capability as the system is expanded makes it the fastest control system available and satisfies the PLC requirement. The software package, NetSuite, provides all the software components you will need. By making a simple OS change, you can utilize the same set of hardware and the same software suite for your SIS, DCS, or PLC applications. This is RTP's definition of Seamless Integration.

RTP Corporation: 49 Years of Technological Excellence

Founded in 1968, RTP began operations as a division of Computer Products, Inc., and in July of 1997, RTP Corp. became a privately held company. For its first twenty-seven years in business, RTP provided high-performance data acquisition systems to the worldwide nuclear market and I/O front-end subsystems for minicomputer driven data acquisition and control systems at some of the world's largest industrial companies. These process control applications were typically characterized as being located in harsh environments, yet with demanding requirements to provide accurate analog measurements under extreme environmental and EMF/RFI conditions.

With a solid foundation of field-proven, high-performance, and high-reliable I/O hardware, RTP decided, in 1995, to expand its product offering, and added control software and a control processor to its I/O front-end subsystems and introduced its Hybrid Control System.  In 2002, the company entered the safety market with its SIS product offering. The decision was not to develop just another safety system but to have a “Best in class” system with the following objectives.

RTP would develop an architecture that would have:

the highest speed,

the highest availability, and

the highest integrity of any Safety System.

The system would be designed from the beginning to be IEC61508 compliant.  This would be a design criteria, not an afterthought.

In 2003, the company introduced the 2300, the Single, Dual and TMR DCS versions of the system. Six hundred systems were shipped as DCS systems before RTP received SIL-1 to SIL-3 certification from TÜV in October of 2006.

This version of the technology was the RTP 2500. It was certified for SIL-2 applications in simplex architecture and for SIL-3 in redundant and TMR architectures. In May 2008, a second TÜV certificate was issued for revisions to the RTP 2500.

Two years after receiving TÜV certification for the 2500 system, RTP announced the next generation system. The 3000 SIS, built on the technology of the 2300 and 2500, offers increased speed, availability, I/O density, and ease of use.

RTP introduced the RTP 3000Q in 2010, the first true Quad SIS architecture, providing true 3oo4D technology and MTTFS numbers in excess of 100,000 years, essentially eliminating nuisance trips. At the same time, the RTP 3100, Hybrid Control System was introduced. Using the same hardware and software suite, the 3100 allows control options not consistent with SIS systems and industry’s most tightly integrated control and safety platforms.

RTP recently introduced the RTP 3000 TAS, its second generation Quad SIS architecture, providing enhanced 3oo4D technology and MTBF numbers in excess of 60,000 years, essentially eliminating nuisance trips. This product demonstrates RTP’s continued commitment to maintain its position as the technology leader. By working with and listening to its customers and understanding core technologies, RTP will continue its technological leadership, investing in the application of technology to solve Data Acquisition needs in the Nuclear Power, and Control and Safety needs in the Process Control and Safety markets.
